Farm at Rabon Creek Wedding|Fountain Inn, SC|Kristen+Thomas

I met Kristen at a Wedding Festival in February. She was so bubbly and excited about her wedding photography, which I of course love. She kept coming back to my booth, asking new questions and bringing a new member of her entourage each time. In fact, she and Thomas have been so encouraging to me throughout our entire time together, even on their wedding day! I always strive to be there for my brides, but it’s such a blessing when my brides are there for me too. The best thing is, because of how they have treated me, I know that Kristen and Thomas are the type of couple who will always be there for each other, encouraging each other as they build a life and family together. They are best friends and what they have together is gold.

The Farm at Rabon Creek was the perfect venue for Kristen and Thomas’ laid back, rustic wedding. It was a wet day but we didn’t let the rain stop us. And neither did the chickens! I loved how they roamed free in the area around their coop, even though they politely declined my friendly advances {i.e. I was unable to catch one} Kristen wore cowboy boots and a soft, flowy dress from David’s Bridal.

Kristen’s family, bridesmaids, makeup artist Kirstin Pace, and hair stylist Taylor Lentz all helped her get ready for the big day in an adorable cottage on the Farm at Rabon Creek’s property.

We dashed out into the rain for some quick pictures before heading for cover again. Sunshine provided by these girls’ pretty smiles and flowers provided by Floral Designs Ltd.

Thomas and his best man arrived and waited in the super cool Groom’s Cabin.

While waiting, the two lovebirds passed notes to each other expressing their love and excitement to get married and spend their lives together. Needless to say both of them teared up and it was the sweetest thing!

The ceremony space was a covered area next to a sunflower garden and included these rockin’ vintage chairs as well as twinkly lights and a beautiful altar.

Every bench was full of family and friends waiting for the beautiful bride to be revealed from behind the wind-blown curtains. Kristen’s precious twin daughters prepared the aisle for her with colorful fresh rose petals that Thomas’s daughter, a junior bridesmaid, had stuffed into the baskets for them.

The moment Thomas had been waiting for came; Kristen shook with excitement all the way down the aisle and Kristen’s dad blessed the marriage with a kiss on her cheek.

The ceremony could not have been more perfect. Amanda of Weddings by A officiated. Excitement shone on the bride and groom’s faces and at one point Kristen was so caught up in looking at the love of her life that she became speechless in the middle of the vows. It was adorable. The joy in the air brought laughter to everyone.

Thomas whisked Kristen away to the cabin in a golf cart for a moment to celebrate together. {I rode on the back–I’m so lucky to see these special, remember-forever moments that no one else gets to!}

Friends and family and goats shortly joined in the celebration. {I glanced at part of Kristen’s note to Thomas and she mentioned in there that they wanted to have goats at their home together–how perfect that goats were present at the wedding!}

The reception took place in this amazing barn!

The brand new Mr. and Mrs. Blackham made their entrance and danced for the first time as one.

There were hugs all around! These two are so loved!

The good people of Nard’s Backyard BBQ brought the delicious food, and a PIG full of steamy succulent pulled pork! See its head?! It was amazing!

The cake by Pammy the Cake Lady was wonderful as well, and the adorable Kate Spade cake servers made it even better. “How sweet it is,” indeed!

While the guests enjoyed the food, I naturally tried to photograph the rings with the chickens. They were all asleep; who would have thought they turned in so early?

I then borrowed the newlyweds for some portraits and more time alone together. They just could not stop talking to each other {except to kiss} and it was precious!

The party continued. The pig’s head went into the photo booth and guests rang a ring for a kiss cow bell as often as they liked.

Kristen had a “Brown-Eyed Girl” father-daughter dance with her dad, and her twins cut in.

Everyone headed outside for some dancing with DJ Apollo–he was the best! I don’t know much about music, but I was blown away by his lights, his song choices, and the way he kept everyone dancing!

The night ended with happiness and toasting. Even the kids joined in with NA orange juice shots.

Hearts were broken as Kristen and Thomas had to leave, but their exit was wonderfully romantic! They dashed through sparkler smoke, kissed, and ran off to their decorated car to get away for the evening.

Kristen and Thomas, I’m so very happy for you! The fun you had at your wedding was contagious! Thank you so much for allowing me to be part of your day and for taking the time to thank me even in the middle of your joyous celebration. It meant so much to me, and I hope you enjoy your photos forever! I wish you and your girls the very best!

Many thanks as well to Amberly at the Farm at Rabon Creek who coordinated the whole day! She is wonderful!
